cPLA2 Antibody (4-4B-3C) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). cPLA2 monoclonal antibody (4-4B-3C) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. cPLA2 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing the sn-2-acyl ester bond in glycerophospholipids, which leads to the release of free fatty acids, including arachidonic acid. This process is vital as arachidonic acid serves as a precursor for the synthesis of eicosanoids, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are key mediators in inflammatory responses. The ability of cPLA2 to preferentially release arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids highlights its importance in regulating inflammatory processes and cellular signaling pathways. cPLA2 (4-4B-3C) antibody enables researchers to effectively study the dynamics of cPLA2 in various biological contexts, enhancing our understanding of its role in health and disease.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works pretty wellI tried this antibody on mouse brain NP40 homogenates. I saw an intense band at ~115 kDa and a weaker band above it (phospho-cPLA2). I also saw a couple of additional weak bands (a 50 kDa and 35 kDa). I also tried it for mouse IHC using PFA-fixed coronal brain sections but did not detect any signal.
