SEE ALSO...

COL7A1 Antibody (LH7.2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Collagen Type VII in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-COL7A1 antibody (LH7.2) is offered in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental design. Collagen Type VII is a crucial component of the extracellular matrix, primarily found in the anchoring fibrils of the dermal-epidermal junction, where COL7A1 plays a vital role in skin integrity and wound healing. Collagen Type VII is essential for maintaining the structural stability of the skin, as COL7A1 helps anchor the epidermis to the underlying dermis, thereby preventing blister formation. Mutations in the COL7A1 gene can lead to dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a severe skin disorder characterized by fragile skin and blistering. The unique triple helix structure of Collagen Type VII, which allows for tensile strength and stability, is critical for function in tissue architecture. COL7A1 monoclonal antibody (LH7.2) enables valuable insights into the role of Collagen Type VII in various biological processes and disease states.

Do you have a protocol for western blot assays in human cells

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Yes, we do have a protocol for Western blot. You can find it here: https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting For this antibody we recommend a starting dilution of 1:100.

I am using COL7A1 (LH7.2): sc-53226 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
