COL6A2 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Collagen α2 Type VI in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-COL6A2 antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Collagen α2 Type VI, also known as PP3610, is a crucial component of the extracellular matrix, consisting of 1,019 amino acids and featuring three von Willebrand factor A (VWFA) domains. COL6A2 plays a significant role in the structural integrity and organization of connective tissues, particularly in forming the collagen type VI complex, which is essential for maintaining the stability and functionality of tissues such as tendons and cartilage. COL6A2 forms part of a trimeric structure with two other alpha chains, acting as a cell-binding protein that facilitates interactions with other matrix components and influences cellular behavior. Mutations in COL6A2 are linked to severe muscle disorders, including Bethlem myopathy and Ullrich congenital muscular dystrophy, highlighting COL6A2′s critical role in muscle function and development.
