SEE ALSO...

COL18A1 Antibody (1837-46) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects COL18A1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-COL18A1 antibody (1837-46) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COL18A1 plays a crucial role in the formation of the extracellular matrix and is involved in various biological processes, including tissue repair and angiogenesis. COL18A1 is primarily located in the basement membrane zones, where COL18A1 contributes to the structural integrity and function of tissues. COL18A1′s presence in these regions is vital for maintaining the interactions between the basement membrane and surrounding stromal cells, which is essential for proper tissue organization and function. COL18A1 produces endostatin, a fragment that inhibits angiogenesis and tumor growth, highlighting COL18A1′s importance in cancer biology and potential therapeutic applications. COL18A1′s unique structural features, including multiple triple-helical domains and non-collagenous regions, further underscore COL18A1′s significance in the diverse family of collagens, particularly within the MULTIPLEXIN subgroup, which includes Collagen Types XV and XVIII. COL18A1 monoclonal antibody (1837-46) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying COL18A1′s roles in various physiological and pathological processes.

Can COL18A1 (1837-46): sc-32720 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, COL18A1 (1837-46): sc-32720 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
