    SEE ALSO...

CMBL Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CMBL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CMBL (B-5) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CMBL protein, or Carboxymethylenebutenolidase homolog, is a 245 amino acid cytosolic protein and cysteine hydrolase that plays a crucial role in cleaving cyclic esters, which is important for various metabolic processes. As a member of the dienelactone hydrolase family, CMBL serves as the human counterpart to the Pseudomonas dienelactone hydrolase, contributing to the bacterial halocatechol degradation pathway. CMBL is highly expressed in the liver, colon, kidney, and small intestine, where CMBL functions as a bioactivating enzyme for the prodrug angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist, olmesartan medoxomil. This enzymatic activity enhances the therapeutic efficacy of olmesartan, which is used in treating hypertension. CMBL is inhibited by p-chloromercuribenzoate (PCMB) and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5p15.2, a region critical for various genetic functions and disorders. Deletion of the p arm of chromosome 5 is associated with Cri du chat syndrome, while abnormalities in the q arm are frequently observed in therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemias and myelodysplastic syndromes, highlighting CMBL′s importance in both health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514233 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
