ClpP Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ClpP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ClpP antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ClpP plays a crucial role in the mitochondrial matrix, where ClpP is involved in the degradation of misfolded or damaged proteins, a process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of potentially toxic protein aggregates. ClpP is part of the peptidase family S14 and functions as a proteolytic enzyme that hydrolyzes proteins into smaller peptides in the presence of ATP and magnesium ions. A unique structure, characterized by a hollow-cored particle formed by two heptameric rings, creates an aqueous chamber that houses active sites for proteolysis.
