Chk2 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Chk2 of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Chk2 (A-12) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Chk2 plays a critical role in cellular response to DNA damage, functioning as a key regulator in the G2 DNA damage checkpoint. Through phosphorylation of Cdc25C in response to DNA damage, Chk2 inhibits phosphatase activity, effectively blocking mitosis progression until damage repair occurs. This regulatory mechanism maintains genomic stability by preventing cells with damaged DNA from entering mitosis, thereby reducing mutation propagation risk. Chk2 interaction with Cdc25A, Cdc25B, and Wee1 further emphasizes importance in cell cycle regulation and checkpoint networks that safeguard cellular integrity.
