SEE ALSO...

cGKII Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cGKII protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). cGKII (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cGKII, also known as cGMP-dependent protein kinase type II, functions as a receptor for intracellular cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), mediating various physiological responses, particularly in regulating ion transport systems in the intestine. cGKII expression occurs in key tissues such as the small intestine, colon, prostate, and human brain, with its gene located on chromosome 4q21.1. A conserved leucine zipper motif at the amino-terminus facilitates protein-protein interactions. Myristoylation at the penultimate glycine enables membrane localization, compensating for the absence of hydrophobic transmembrane domains. This cytosol-to-membrane translocation is essential for regulating intestinal ion transport, emphasizing the importance of structural and functional integrity in physiological processes.
