cGKIα/β Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cGKIα/β in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-cGKIα/β antibody (G-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cGKI, also known as PRKG1, plays a crucial role in regulating vascular smooth muscle relaxation by lowering intracellular calcium levels, which is vital for maintaining proper blood flow and pressure. cGKI exists as two isoforms, α and β, which differ in their N-terminal sequences but share a common kinase domain that facilitates the phosphorylation of target proteins. The structural integrity of cGKI is essential for function, as cGKI contains one protein kinase domain, one AGC-kinase C-terminal domain, and two cyclic nucleotide-binding domains, allowing effective mediation of physiological responses triggered by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGKI interacts with various proteins, including cGKII, which is another cGMP-dependent protein kinase that regulates ion transport in the intestine and is expressed in several tissues, including the brain. Understanding the interactions and functions of cGKIα/β is critical for elucidating its role in cardiovascular health and disease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antibody for Western blotting. This product has been independently tested and validated in-house at Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation as a very potent and highly specific antibody for Western blotting with a mixture of mouse brain, testes and thymus tissue lysates. It strongly detects a ~90 kDa protein in immunoblots, which is slightly higher than the predicted molecular mass for cGMP-dependent protein kinase.
