CEACAM1 Antibody (GM8G5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CEACAM1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CEACAM1, also known as BGP or BGP1, is a 526 amino acid protein that exists in seven alternatively spliced isoforms, with some localized to cell membranes and others secreted. CEACAM1 plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including angiogenesis, apoptosis, and the organization of tissue architecture, as well as the modulation of both innate and adaptive immune responses. Notably, CEACAM1 is underexpressed in colorectal cancers, indicating its potential function in tumor suppression. The presence of one immunoglobulin-like V-type domain and three C2-type domains in CEACAM1 contributes to its structural complexity and functional versatility, making CEACAM1 an important target for research in cancer biology and immunology.
