CD96 Antibody (NK92.39.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD96 protein of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD96, also known as T cell surface protein tactile, is a type I membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin supergene family, with its gene located on chromosome 3q13.13-q13.2. CD96 plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly during the late phases, by facilitating adhesive interactions among activated natural killer (NK) and T cells, both helper and cytotoxic. CD96 interacts with CD155, a ligand that enhances the activation and cytotoxic functions of these immune cells. CD96′s importance extends to engaging with diseased cells and migrating to inflamed areas, which is vital for effective immune surveillance and response. CD96 is involved in antigen presentation and lymphocyte activation, and may form homodimers, which can influence signaling capabilities. CD96 expression notably increases following NK and T cell activation, making CD96 a significant marker for studying immune responses in various pathological conditions.
