CD7 Antibody (CBC.37) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CD7 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD7 (CBC.37) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD7, also known as T cell leukemia antigen, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed on pluripotential hematopoietic cells, most human thymocytes, and certain peripheral blood T cells. CD7 plays a crucial role in T cell activation, particularly in those with gamma/delta receptors, highlighting CD7′s importance in immune responses. CD7 serves as a marker for pluripotential stem cell leukemias and T cell acute lymphocytic leukemia, making CD7 significant in both diagnostic and therapeutic contexts. Research has shown that CD8 T cells from HIV-1-infected patients exhibit a marked down-regulation of CD7 expression compared to healthy individuals, indicating CD7′s potential role in the pathophysiology of viral infections. CD7 is among the pan-T-cell antigens that are down-regulated during acute infectious mononucleosis, underscoring CD7′s relevance in various immunological conditions.
