SEE ALSO...

CD47 Antibody (B6H12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD47 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD47 (B6H12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD47 is an integral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in regulating cation fluxes across cell membranes, particularly influencing the increase in intracellular calcium concentration during cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix. This function is vital for various cellular processes, including migration, proliferation, and survival, as CD47 helps cells respond appropriately to their environment. Additionally, CD47 serves as a receptor for the C-terminal cell-binding domain of thrombospondin, which is important for cell signaling and communication. Notably, CD47 is absent from Rh-null erythrocytes, yet CD47 significantly contributes to cell adhesion in non-erythroid cells and may prevent the premature elimination of erythrocytes from circulation. Furthermore, CD47 is expressed on a variety of cell types, including hemopoietic cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, with particularly strong expression in brain and mesenchymal cells, highlighting CD47′s importance in both normal physiology and potential pathological conditions.
