CBS Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CBS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CBS (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cystathionine b-synthase (CBS) protein is predominantly expressed in the human liver and pancreas, playing a crucial role in homocysteine metabolism by catalyzing homocysteine conversion to cystathionine in the first step of transulfuration. CBS protein contributes to cysteine synthesis, an amino acid essential for protein synthesis and various metabolic pathways. CBS activity is influenced by allosteric activation from adenosyl-methionine, highlighting CBS protein′s importance in maintaining amino acid balance and preventing toxic accumulation of homocysteine. CBS deficiencies can lead to homocystinuria, a genetic disorder resulting in severe health issues, including cardiovascular problems, cognitive impairments, and skeletal abnormalities, underscoring CBS protein′s significance in human health.
