CapG Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CapG protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CapG antibody (H-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CapG, also known as actin-regulatory protein and macrophage-capping protein, plays a crucial role in regulating actin dynamics within cells. CapG is primarily expressed in macrophages and macrophage-like cells, where CapG functions to reversibly cap barbed ends of actin filaments, preventing further polymerization while not severing existing filaments. This regulation is vital for maintaining cellular structure and motility, particularly in immune responses where macrophages need to rapidly change shape and migrate. Additionally, CapG is a calcium-sensitive DNA-binding protein that can localize to both nucleus and cytoplasm, indicating involvement in various cellular processes beyond actin regulation. CapG interactions with actin are essential for proper functioning of nuclear and cytoplasmic structures, highlighting importance in cellular dynamics and immune function.

why am seeing this info is this related to 'crisper", "'cas9" or the like

Asked by: Elog
Thank you for your question. Anti-CapG Antibody (H-9): sc-166428 can be used to verify protein-level knockout of CapG when using CapG CRISPR/Cas9 KO Plasmid (h) sc-416526, CapG CRISPR/Cas9 KO Plasmid (m) sc-419438, or any of the variants we offer for these two products.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166428 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
