SEE ALSO...

CaMKIV Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CaMKIV in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CaMKIV antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CaMKIV, a member of the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in T cell activation and neuronal function. CaMKIV is primarily located in the nucleus, where CaMKIV regulates gene expression and is involved in the phosphorylation of transcription factors, thereby influencing processes such as cell differentiation and proliferation. Nuclear localization of CaMKIV is essential for function, as this positioning allows direct interaction with and modification of target proteins that are critical for the transcriptional response to calcium signaling. CaMKIV is activated by calcium and calmodulin, but also requires phosphorylation by other kinases for full activation, highlighting the intricate regulatory mechanisms that govern activity. Stimulation of the T cell receptor CD3 signaling complex can lead to a significant increase in CaMKIV activity, underscoring importance in immune responses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antibody: All in One!CaMK-IV (SC166156) is an excellent antibody and it will help you to paint your blot with clear band as well as spot the protein in the crowded intra-cellular environment (Immuno-fluorescence detection). I just purchased this antibody to use it for immunoblot and for Immuno-fluorescence study in human cell line. In Immunoblot it gives a clear band at 55kDa which is the right molecular weight and match perfectly with theoretical mol. weight prediction (see the attached blots). However, do not get disappointed if you see occasional high mol. weight band (as in the 2nd blot), which definitely is post translational modification (can't disclose further) and if you explore it may lead to great discovery. In immuno-fluorescence it showed clear localization in the cytoplasm, as well as in the nucleus and nucleolus, the nucleolar localization is very distinct and other scientist reported this. So if you are looking for a multipurpose CaMK-IV antibody then this is the ONE. Go for it and do great science.
