Calnexin Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1-70 of human Calnexin, reacting with mouse, rat, and human proteins. Calnexin, also known as CANX or IP90, is a calcium-binding chaperone protein localized in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). As an integral type I membrane protein, anti-Calnexin antibody (E-10) interacts directly with newly synthesized N-linked glycoproteins within the ER, ensuring proper folding and assembly. This function is essential for maintaining protein homeostasis, preventing the accumulation of misfolded proteins that can lead to cellular stress or disease. Calnexin works in tandem with Calreticulin (also called Calregulin), a soluble ER lumen protein, to assist in the quality control and retention of unassembled protein subunits. By participating in the maturation of glycoproteins, Calnexin plays a vital role in various cellular processes, including signal transduction and immune responses.
