BRE Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Brain and reproductive organ-expressed protein (BRE) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRE is a 415 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis by binding to the intracellular juxtamembrane domain of the death receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNF-R1), as well as the death receptor FAS. BRE (C-9) antibody recognizes a protein that downregulates TNFα-induced activation of NFκB, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and differentiation in epithelial, neural, and germ line cells. Additionally, BRE inhibits components of the death-inducing signaling complexes necessary for mitochondrial activation, thereby mediating apoptosis. BRE (C-9) monoclonal antibody targets a protein predominantly expressed in the adrenal cortex, medulla, testis, and pancreas, with weaker expression observed in the thymus, thyroid, stomach, and small intestine. Notably, the BRE gene responds to various stimuli, including DNA-damaging agents in fibroblasts, lipopolysaccharides in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and retinoic acid in brain glioma, highlighting BRE′s potential role in cellular responses to stress and damage. With versatile applications and critical biological functions, anti-BRE antibody (C-9) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying apoptosis and related signaling pathways.
