BRE Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRE (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The brain and reproductive organ-expressed protein (BRE) is a 415 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis by binding to the intracellular juxtamembrane domain of the death receptor tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNF-R1) and the death receptor FAS. By downregulating TNFα-induced activation of NFκB, BRE contributes to cellular homeostasis and differentiation in epithelial, neural, and germ line cells. BRE′s ability to inhibit components of the death-inducing signaling complexes is vital for preventing unwanted apoptosis, making BRE an important player in cell survival. BRE is predominantly expressed in the adrenal cortex, medulla, testis, and pancreas, with lower expression levels in the thymus, thyroid, stomach, and small intestine. Additionally, BRE responds to various stimuli, including DNA-damaging agents in fibroblasts, lipopolysaccharides in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and retinoic acid in brain glioma, highlighting BRE′s potential role in cellular responses to stress and differentiation signals.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376453 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
