β-dystroglycan Antibody (4F7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects β-dystroglycan of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. β-dystroglycan Antibody (4F7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. β-dystroglycan plays a crucial role as a cell surface receptor for several extracellular matrix components, such as laminins, agrin, and perlecan, which are essential for basement membrane formation during early development and proper laminin organization on the cell surface. This function maintains tissue integrity and facilitates cell signaling. β-dystroglycan forms a complex with α-dystroglycan, anchoring α-dystroglycan to the cell membrane, and participates in a larger multimolecular complex including dystrophin at the sarcolemma and utrophin at the neuromuscular junction. These interactions are critical for clustering nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, necessary for effective neuromuscular transmission. Anti-β-dystroglycan antibody (4F7) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle biology and related pathologies.

How can β-dystroglycan (4F7): sc-33702 monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: jenniferc
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. β-dystroglycan (4F7): sc-33702 monoclonal antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-33702 PE), fluorescein (sc-33702 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-33702 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-33702 AF647)
