BAF170 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BAF170 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAF170 (E-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BAF170 plays a crucial role in the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, which is essential for the regulation of gene expression through ATP-dependent remodeling of nucleosome structure. This remodeling is vital for transcriptional activation, as BAF170 allows access to DNA for transcription factors and RNA polymerase. The functional core of the SWI/SNF complex includes BAF170, along with other key subunits such as Brm, Brg-1, Ini1, and BAF155, which work synergistically to enhance chromatin accessibility and facilitate the transcriptional machinery′s engagement with target genes. BAF170′s interaction with these subunits is critical for maintaining proper cellular function and responding to developmental cues, making BAF170 an important target for research in gene regulation and epigenetics.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-17838 X be used instead of the standard form sc-17838?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
