BACE2 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects BACE2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BACE2 antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BACE2 plays a crucial role in processing amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is significant in Alzheimer′s disease. Mutations in APP gene lead to amyloid β-peptide (Aβ) production, a key component of amyloid plaques found in Alzheimer′s patients. BACE2, as a transmembrane protease, cleaves Aβ from APP, influencing plaque formation. BACE2 expression is widespread in human tissues, with particularly high levels in pancreas, and primarily localizes within Golgi apparatus and endosomes. Understanding BACE2 function and localization is essential for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at mitigating Alzheimer′s disease and other related neurodegenerative disorders.
