BACE Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects BACE in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BACE, or beta-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme, plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease by cleaving the amyloid precursor protein (APP) to produce amyloid beta-peptide (Aβ), which aggregates to form amyloid plaques, a hallmark of the disease. BACE localization within the Golgi apparatus and endosomes is particularly important, as these cellular compartments facilitate APP processing, leading to Aβ generation. Understanding BACE cellular location is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at inhibiting BACE activity, thereby potentially reducing Aβ production and mitigating the progression of Alzheimer′s disease. Anti-BACE antibody (A-12) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer′s disease and for exploring potential interventions targeting this critical enzyme.
