AVP Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects arginine-vasopressin (AVP) in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AVP is a crucial neurohypophyseal hormone that plays a significant role in maintaining body fluid homeostasis and is also implicated as an autocrine growth factor in various cancers, including breast cancer. AVP is primarily located in the hypothalamus and is secreted into the bloodstream, where AVP regulates water retention and vascular resistance by acting on specific receptors, namely Vasopressin V1a and V2. AVP interaction with these receptors not only influences blood pressure and fluid balance but also has implications for myocardial function, as V1a receptor activation can adversely affect myocardial contractility and promote cell growth. Furthermore, AVP′s role in cancer progression is underscored by AVP′s ability to activate the ERK1/2 signaling pathway, which is associated with increased tumor growth. Additionally, AVP has been shown to have potential therapeutic applications in managing acute and chronic heart failure, as well as in migraine relief due to AVP′s antinociceptive properties. Anti-AVP antibody (G-1) is therefore an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the multifaceted roles of AVP in both physiological and pathological contexts.
