ATMIN Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ATMIN in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATMIN, also known as ATM/ATR-substrate Chk2-interacting Zn2+-finger protein, plays a crucial role in the DNA damage response by acting as a scaffold protein in the Rad51 focus formation pathway, which is essential for repairing DNA lesions. ATMIN′s ability to form Rad51-containing foci in response to DNA methylating agents and persistent single-stranded DNA gaps is vital for maintaining genomic stability, as ATMIN facilitates the repair of DNA damage and prevents apoptosis induced by excessive DNA damage. ATMIN′s structure includes an N-terminal nucleic acid binding domain, a nuclear localization signal, and a C-terminal SQ/TQ cluster domain, which are important for ATMIN′s interaction with other proteins, such as the Forkhead-associated domain of Chk2. This interaction suggests that ATMIN may also serve as a substrate for ATM/ATR kinase, further highlighting ATMIN′s significance in the DNA damage response pathway. A deficiency in functional ATMIN can lead to impaired Rad51 focus formation, resulting in increased susceptibility to DNA damage and apoptosis, underscoring ATMIN′s importance in cellular health and integrity.
