Atg16 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Atg16 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Atg16 antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Atg16 protein, also known as ATG16L1, IBD10, or WDR30, is a 607 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of seven WD-repeats, which are structural motifs that contribute to the formation of a tertiary propeller structure. This unique structure facilitates Atg16′s role in autophagy, a vital intracellular degradation pathway that transports cytoplasmic proteins to lysosomes for degradation. Atg16 exists as a homooligomer and interacts with APG5, underscoring Atg16′s importance in regulating autophagic processes. Additionally, genetic variations in Atg16 gene have been linked to inflammatory bowel disease type 10 (IBD10), highlighting Atg16′s significance in human health. Atg16′s localization to both cytoplasm and peripheral membranes further emphasizes Atg16′s functional versatility, as Atg16 participates in various cellular processes, including chromatin assembly, cell cycle control, and vesicular trafficking. Multiple isoforms of Atg16 arise from alternative splicing, adding another layer of complexity to Atg16′s regulatory functions.
