ATE1 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ATE1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATE1 (G-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Arginyl-tRNA-protein transferase (ATE1), also known as arginyltransferase 1, is a crucial enzyme belonging to the R-transferase family, responsible for the posttranslational modification of proteins through the addition of arginine. This modification is essential for the recognition and subsequent degradation of proteins via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, particularly for substrates containing aspartate, glutamate, or cysteine at their N-termini. The ability of ATE1 to arginylate proteins not only influences their stability but also plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including cell signaling and apoptosis. ATE1 is a 518 amino acid protein that can exist in two distinct isoforms due to alternative splicing, and is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, highlighting its importance in cellular function and regulation.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398805 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
