SEE ALSO...

Astrotactin Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Astrotactin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Astrotactin antibody (H-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Astrotactin plays a crucial role in neuronal migration within the central nervous system, a specialized form of cell motility essential for proper formation of the brain′s layered structure. Astrotactin is predominantly expressed on postmitotic neuronal precursors located in key brain regions such as the cerebellum, hippocampus, cerebrum, and olfactory bulb, where Astrotactin facilitates interactions between neurons and astrocytes, thereby influencing synaptic development and various neuronal functions. Structurally, Astrotactin contains three epidermal growth factor repeat domains and two fibronectin type III repeat domains, which are critical for interactions and functions. The human Astrotactin gene is located on chromosome 1q25 and exhibits significant homology to mouse counterpart, with mutations in this gene being associated with neuronal migration defects in both species.
