NUAK1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects NUAK1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NUAK1, also known as omphk1 (omphalocele kinase 1), is a 658 amino acid protein located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, featuring a single protein kinase domain and belonging to the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family and the SNF1 subfamily. NUAK1 plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell adhesion, regulation of cell ploidy and senescence, as well as cell proliferation and tumor progression. NUAK1 is involved in the phosphorylation of key proteins such as Atm, caspase-6, LATS1, MYPT1, and p53, which are essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress signals. NUAK1 expression is particularly prominent in the developing central nervous system and epidermis, highlighting its importance in developmental biology. Furthermore, homozygous Nauk1 mutants exhibit omphalocele, a serious condition characterized by the failure of the secondary body wall to close, resulting in the protrusion of abdominal organs. This defect becomes evident at embryonic day 14.5, underscoring the critical role of NUAK1 in embryonic development and organogenesis.
