ARFGAP1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ARFGAP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ARFGAP1 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ARFGAP1, also known as ADP-ribosylation factor GTPase activating protein 1, consists of 406 amino acids and features a single ARF-GAP domain, primarily localized in the cytoplasm and the Golgi apparatus. ARFGAP1 functions as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) by interacting with ARF1 to promote GTP hydrolysis bound to ARF1, a process essential for coat protein dissociation from Golgi structures and subsequent fusion of Golgi vesicles with target compartments. ARFGAP1′s activity can be modulated by various lipids; phosphatidylcholine inhibits while phosphoinositides stimulate ARFGAP1, which can lead to Golgi apparatus redistribution to the endoplasmic reticulum when overexpressed. Multiple isoforms of ARFGAP1 arise from alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within cellular processes.
