    SEE ALSO...

AP-2β Antibody (1G6/2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects AP-2β in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). AP-2β, a splice variant of the AP-2α transcription factor, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences, thereby influencing various biological processes, including cell differentiation and proliferation. AP-2β (1G6/2) antibody has been shown to detect protein that inhibits AP-2α activity, which can lead to altered expression of genes involved in tumorigenesis. AP-2β forms part of the OB2-1 transcription factor complex, which upregulates the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, a gene overexpressed in 25-30% of breast cancers, highlighting AP-2β′s potential role in cancer progression. Deleterious mutations in AP-2β have been associated with various developmental disorders, underscoring AP-2β′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Through interactions with other transcription factors and gene expression modulation, AP-2β serves as a vital component in understanding molecular mechanisms underlying various biological functions and pathologies.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using AP-2β (1G6/2): sc-53161?

    Asked by: TinTin
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane.
