    SEE ALSO...

Alpha 4 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Alpha 4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Alpha 4 (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Alpha 4 is a cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in regulating signal transduction by associating with the surface IgM receptor. This interaction is vital for modulating the catalytic activity of type 2A-related serine/threonine phosphatases, specifically protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). PP2A regulation is significant because of its involvement in various cellular processes, including cell growth, division, and apoptosis. Alpha 4 interacts with MID1, a protein linked to X-linked Opitz GBBB syndrome, where mutations can lead to developmental defects such as craniofacial, cardiac, and genital anomalies. Alpha 4 expression is most pronounced in heart, skeletal muscle, and pancreas tissues, and belongs to the IGBP1/TAP42 family, underscoring its importance in cellular signaling pathways and potential implications in developmental disorders.
