SEE ALSO...

Aldose Reductase Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Aldose Reductase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Aldose Reductase antibody (H-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Aldose Reductase, also known as ALR2, is a crucial enzyme in the monomeric NADPH-dependent aldoketoreductase family, primarily responsible for catalyzing the reduction of aldehydes to their corresponding alcohols. This enzymatic activity is particularly significant in diabetic complications, as Aldose Reductase converts glucose into sorbitol, a sugar alcohol that accumulates in cells during hyperglycemia. The accumulation of sorbitol leads to osmotic and oxidative stress, contributing to the pathogenesis of diabetic neuropathy, retinopathy, and cataracts. Understanding Aldose Reductase function is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at mitigating these complications. Aldose Reductase shares structural similarities with human aldehyde reductase (ALR1), bovine prostaglandin F synthase, and rho-crystallin found in the European common frog, highlighting evolutionary conservation and functional importance across species.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good antibody but setting is necessary! This antibody gives good results when the proteins are unboiled or incubated at 37°C. The boiling at 95°C of protein extracts isolated from human dermal fibroblasts is responsible for the degradation of AR protein.
