ALDH5A1 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALDH5A1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALDH5A1 (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALDH5A1 protein, also known as succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase or SSADH, is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in the metabolism of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a key neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. By facilitating the conversion of succinate semialdehyde to succinate, ALDH5A1 is essential for GABA recycling from the synaptic cleft, thereby maintaining proper neurotransmitter levels and ensuring effective synaptic transmission. This function is particularly important for regulating neuronal excitability and preventing neurological disorders. Mutations in the ALDH5A1 gene can lead to succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency, a condition characterized by severe ataxia and developmental delays, highlighting ALDH5A1′s critical role in brain function.

Thank you for your question. Yes, ALDH5A1 (D-3): sc-390754 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
