ALDH1B1 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALDH1B1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALDH1B1 (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALDH1B1, also known as aldehyde dehydrogenase family 1 member B1, plays a crucial role in the detoxification of aldehydes, particularly in the metabolism of ethanol and other harmful substances. ALDH1B1 is primarily located in the mitochondria of cells in the liver and testis, with lesser expression in the brain, highlighting ALDH1B1′s importance in metabolic processes that occur in these tissues. Mitochondrial localization of ALDH1B1 allows for efficient conversion of toxic aldehydes into less harmful carboxylic acids, thereby protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage. Variants in the ALDH1B1 gene have been associated with differences in alcohol metabolism and cardiovascular disease risk, underscoring ALDH1B1′s relevance in both health and disease.
