    SEE ALSO...

ALDH16A1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ALDH16A1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALDH16A1 is an 802 amino acid protein that belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, which is crucial for the metabolism of aldehyde substrates by utilizing nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) as a cofactor. ALDH16A1 plays a significant role in oxidoreductase activity and protein binding, and has been shown to interact with Maspardin, a protein associated with Mast syndrome, highlighting ALDH16A1′s importance in cellular processes and potential implications in disease. The gene encoding ALDH16A1 is located on human chromosome 19q13.33 and produces two alternatively spliced isoforms, consisting of seventeen exons. ALDH16A1 is conserved across several species, including chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, and zebrafish, although certain critical residues, such as a cysteine active site and glutamate residues, are not conserved, which may affect functional properties. With versatile applications and significant biological relevance, anti-ALDH16A1 antibody (C-5) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying this protein′s role in various physiological and pathological contexts.
