    SEE ALSO...

ALDH16A1 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ALDH16A1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ALDH16A1 antibody (E-1) is available as the non-conjugated form. ALDH16A1 consists of 802 amino acids and belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, known for catalyzing the oxidation of aldehydes to corresponding carboxylic acids - a crucial step in metabolizing various endogenous and exogenous compounds. ALDH16A1 (E-1) antibody helps study this enzyme′s role in detoxifying harmful aldehydes and maintaining cellular homeostasis. ALDH16A1 interacts with Maspardin, a protein associated with Mast syndrome, suggesting potential involvement in metabolic disorders. The ALDH16A1 gene is located on human chromosome 19q13.33 and produces two alternatively spliced isoforms with seventeen exons. While ALDH16A1 is conserved across several species, including chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, and zebrafish, certain critical residues, such as a cysteine active site and specific glutamate residues, are not conserved, suggesting evolutionary divergence in function or regulation.
