AIM2 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects AIM2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AIM2 (F-11) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying AIM2 in various biological processes. AIM2, also known as Absent in Melanoma 2, is a 343 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in immune response by functioning as a cytosolic DNA sensor. AIM2′s ability to detect foreign DNA leads to inflammasome activation, a multi-protein complex that triggers Caspase-1 activation, resulting in pro-inflammatory cytokine maturation and secretion. This function is particularly important during infections and cancer, as AIM2 acts as a tumor suppressor by repressing NFκB transcriptional activity. AIM2 is highly expressed in tissues such as small intestine, testis, peripheral blood leukocytes, and spleen, and AIM2 defects have been implicated in microsatellite unstable colon cancers, highlighting significance in both immune regulation and tumorigenesis.
