ACOX3 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ACOX3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACOX3 Antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACOX3, or acyl-Coenzyme A oxidase 3, is a 700 amino acid protein localized in peroxisomes and belongs to the acyl-CoA oxidase family. ACOX3 plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism by catalyzing the desaturation of 2-methyl branched fatty acids using flavin adenine dinucleotide as a cofactor, essential for peroxisomal fatty acid beta-oxidation. ACOX3 function is vital for lipid metabolism and energy production, and dysfunction can lead to metabolic disorders. Human ACOX3 shares 75% sequence identity with rat ACOX3, indicating a conserved function across species. The gene encoding ACOX3 is located on human chromosome 4, a region significant for genetic content and association with various genetic disorders, including Huntington′s disease and polycystic kidney disease. Multiple isoforms of ACOX3 exist due to alternative splicing, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms governing expression and function.
