ACAA1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ACAA1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACAA1 (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACAA1 protein, also known as acetyl-Coenzyme A acyltransferase 1 or Peroxisomal 3-oxoacyl-CoA thiolase, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, specifically in the fatty acid oxidation pathway. This 424 amino acid enzyme is localized in the peroxisome, where ACAA1 catalyzes the conversion of acyl-CoA and acetyl-CoA to 3-oxoacyl-CoA, a vital step in breaking down fatty acids for energy production. ACAA1 exhibits high enzymatic activity in key tissues such as the liver, kidney, intestine, and white adipose tissue, where ACAA1 exists in two isoforms, type A and type B. Notably, human ACAA1 shares 86% amino acid identity with its rat counterpart, indicating a conserved function across species, which underscores ACAA1′s importance in metabolic processes. Anti-ACAA1 antibody (C-8) in various forms allows for versatile applications in research, enabling scientists to explore the intricate roles of ACAA1 in health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514051 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nicely stainedThis antibody stains nicely. We assume that results must be interpreted with caution given the multiple bands that show up on western blot with overexposure. High dilutions of antibody may help to overcome this nonspecific binding in IHC. We used the Vector ImmPRESS kit with DAB to develop the stain
