    SEE ALSO...

AASS Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects AASS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AASS (H-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The alpha-aminoadipic semialdehyde synthase (AASS) protein, also known as lysine ketoglutarate reductase (LKR) or saccharopine dehydrogenase (SDH), is a crucial 926 amino acid enzyme that functions as a homodimer within the mitochondria. AASS plays a vital role in lysine metabolism, catalyzing the initial steps of lysine degradation, which is essential for maintaining amino acid balance and preventing toxic accumulation. AASS enzyme′s activity is particularly important in the liver, where AASS is highly expressed, and AASS gene transcription is upregulated during periods of starvation, highlighting AASS role in metabolic adaptation. Mutations in the AASS gene can lead to familial hyperlysinemias, a group of autosomal recessive disorders characterized by elevated lysine levels, lysinuria, and variable saccharopinuria; however, patients with hyperlysinemia typically do not exhibit significant mental or physical health issues.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390511 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
