4E-BP1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects 4E-BP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). 4E-BP1, also known as PHAS-I, plays a crucial role in the regulation of protein synthesis by inhibiting the function of eIF-4E, a key component of the eIF-4F complex that initiates translation. When phosphorylated by kinases such as S6 kinase p70, MAP kinases, or protein kinase C, 4E-BP1 dissociates from eIF-4E, thereby promoting the assembly of the translation initiation complex and enhancing protein synthesis.
