SEE ALSO...

14-3-3 σ Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects 14-3-3 sigma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-14-3-3 sigma antibody (E-11) is available as the non-conjugated format. 14-3-3 sigma protein, also known as SFN, stratifin, HME1, or YWHAS, plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, particularly in cancer biology, where 14-3-3 sigma protein is involved in apoptosis, mitogenic signaling, and cell-cycle checkpoints. 14-3-3 sigma protein is predominantly expressed in stratified squamous keratinizing epithelium and functions as a secreted adaptor protein that interacts with a wide range of target proteins, including Keratin 17 (KRT17). 14-3-3 sigma protein binding to KRT17 enhances the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, promoting protein synthesis and cell growth. 14-3-3 sigma protein positively mediates insulin-like growth factor I-induced cell cycle progression and interacts with translation initiation factors, thereby regulating mitotic translation. In tumor growth, 14-3-3 sigma protein positively regulates tumor suppressor p53, increasing p53-mediated inhibition of G2/M cell cycle progression. Multiple isoforms of 14-3-3 sigma protein, resulting from alternative splicing events, further underscore the complexity and importance in cellular signaling and cancer development.
