Sg V Activators

The suite of chemical compounds known to activate Sg V operates through distinct yet convergent biochemical pathways, each culminating in the enhancement of Sg V's functional capacity within cellular processes. Forskolin and IBMX, by elevating and maintaining increased levels of cAMP respectively, potentiate the activity of protein kinase A (PKA), which could phosphorylate Sg V, thereby escalating its activity. This mechanism is paralleled by the action of Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA), which activates protein kinase C (PKC) and may similarly result in the phosphorylation and consequent activation of Sg V.
