SerpinB11 활성제

SerpinB11, also known as serpin peptidase inhibitor, clade B (ovalbumin), member 11, is a member of the serpin superfamily of proteins. Specially, it falls into the clade B subgroup of intracellular serpins. The SerpinB11 gene encodes this protein, which, like other serpins, is characterized by a well-conserved tertiary structure that includes three β-sheets and up to nine α-helices. The function of SerpinB11, however, is relatively less understood compared to other serpins.Serpins typically function as irreversible inhibitors of proteases, playing a crucial role in regulating a variety of biological processes such as coagulation, fibrinolysis, inflammation, cell migration, and apoptosis. They achieve this by employing a unique mechanistic strategy called the "suicide inhibition," wherein the serpin undergoes a significant conformational change upon protease binding, trapping the protease and disrupting its active site.

What sets SerpinB11 apart from many of its family members is that it is considered a non-inhibitory serpin, meaning it lacks the traditional protease inhibitory function. The exact biological role of SerpinB11 remains elusive, but it is thought to have specialized functions within the cells due to its conservation across different species, suggesting an important role in physiological processes.The expression of SerpinB11 has been identified in various tissues, which indicates a potentially broad biological impact. Further research into the specific interactions and cellular pathways involving SerpinB11 is required to elucidate its precise function.
