OR3A3 Activators

Isoproterenol interact with beta-adrenergic receptors, precipitating an increase in intracellular cAMP levels, which is a pivotal messenger in GPCR signaling. The raised cAMP levels serve to augment the activity of receptors such as OR3A3, although not by direct binding. Cholera and pertussis toxins target G protein subunits, crucial components in GPCR signaling cascades. The alteration in the function of these subunits by the toxins results in either an upsurge or a decrease in cAMP within the cell, thereby having the capacity to modulate OR3A3 activity.
