Similarly, Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) is a potent activator of protein kinase C (PKC) and can lead to the phosphorylation and activation of Olr223. Anisomycin operates through a different pathway by activating the MAPK/ERK pathway, which results in the activation of downstream kinases capable of targeting and activating Olr223.
Additionally, Sphingosine-1-phosphate, a bioactive lipid, can engage G-protein coupled receptor signaling cascades that lead to the activation of kinases that phosphorylate and activate Olr223. Thapsigargin, by inhibiting the SERCA pump, causes an increase in cytosolic calcium levels, thereby activating kinases that can phosphorylate Olr223.
