FGD1 Activators

FGD1, short for FYVE, RhoGEF and PH domain-containing 1, is a protein encoded by the FGD1 gene in humans. It is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the Rho GTPase Cdc42, a key player in cell signaling pathways that regulate various cellular processes such as actin cytoskeleton organization, cell migration, and cell division.

The FGD1 protein is particularly noted for its role in the development and maintenance of the skeletal system. Mutations in the FGD1 gene are responsible for a rare genetic disorder known as Aarskog-Scott syndrome (also known as Faciogenital Dysplasia), characterized by short stature and abnormalities in the face, hands, and genitals.
