Do you have any idea, why the protein runs at 55-60 kDa instead of 75 kDa? Other antibodies here by SC detect the protein at 80-90 kDa. Thank you for you ideas on that!

Thank you for your question. Observed molecular weight can vary due to post-translational processing and alternative splicing of the protein. While splicing isoforms have only been described based on computational data, there are a number of post-translational modifications such as sumoylation and phosphorylation that may contribute to the protein's molecular weight in western blots.

Have you guys tested if this antibody cross reacts with mouse ARK5?

Hello. I was curious if you could shed some light on why this antibody picks up a 55 kDa piece of ARK5 when it is listed as 74 kDa. Is there a particular processing event that results in this fragment? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your question. The Western blot data which you are referring to on our website appears to be inconsistent with the expected observed molecular weight for ARK5 of ~ 74 kDa, as well as with Western blot data using different antibodies against ARK5. As a result, our labs are now reviewing this data and the data will likely be removed and replaced.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with ARK5 (B-4): sc-271828 monoclonal antibody?
