Datasheets
  • Ac-Histone H3 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ, cited in 13 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 1-28 of Histone H3 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Histone H3 acetylated at Lys 9 and Lys 14 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Ac-Histone H3 Antibody (D-4) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Ac-Histone H3 Antibody (D-4) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

Ac-Histone H3 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ac-Histone H3, acetylated at Lys 9 and Lys 14, in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ac-Histone H3 antibody (D-4) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental design. Histone H3 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression as a key component of the nucleosome, the fundamental unit of chromatin structure. Acetylation of Histone H3 at specific lysine residues, particularly Lys 9 and Lys 14, represents a significant post-translational modification that influences chromatin dynamics and accessibility, thereby impacting transcriptional activity. This modification is primarily mediated by histone acetyltransferases such as p300 and PCAF, which facilitate chromatin structure loosening, allowing transcription factors and other regulatory proteins to access DNA more readily. The dynamic interplay of acetylated histones with other histone proteins suggests a complex regulatory mechanism essential for proper gene expression and cellular function.
